Day 5 – You Asked For It!
Ask God to reveal to you anyone whom you need to ask for forgiveness. Then, DO IT! Ask ‘em! You have no doubt knowingly offended, hurt, or disappointed people. We all have. The problem grows out of our unwillingness to go to them in a biblical manner and ask them to forgive us for the hurt. If not dealt with, satan will use this issue to cause discord and eventually, bitterness will begin to creep into that relationship.
God can receive great honor when you humble yourself and go to the offended party. It is a wonderful opportunity to mirror Christ’s love for us towards others. God can use this action to open the door for you to share your motivation for doing so. What a way to share with the world how Christ’s love can be reciprocated to those we have hurt.
God is a God of reconciliation, so make the first move! He will be honored and you will be blessed! Our relationships will be hindered until we make it right!
Matthew 5:23-24
23“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
Pray – Ask God to reveal to you those who you have offended. This may be a recent event or something that has occurred many years ago. Be open to respond as God leads you.
“God, I want to have an clear path to You as I worship, serve, and give to You. Reveal to me the person(s) I need to go to. Give me courage to ask them to forgive me. I know it will be an awesome testimony of your grace in my life by doing so. Let them see You through this encounter, not me. Prepare them to receive my words as I model Christ before them!”
Reflection – What happened today? Who did you ask for forgiveness? What was their response? Share on te blog to encourage others!

One of my past ministers had a saying that went like this “build a brige – get over it”. It really does apply to so many things in our lives. Little things that get under your skin “build a bridge”…big things that tear at your core – “build a bridge”. You will feel better!
I do not thing your heart will be ready to be fully restored by the spirit until everything is cleaned out. And then, you will just miss out on the blessings God has in store for you.
